Dubravko Babić (VP RF Devices) is expert in the communications-components technology. He received his Dipl. Ing. Degree on Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb in 1982, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1985 and 1995, respectively. His field of expertise was semiconductor device physics and components technology related to electronics and optoelectronics.  Between 1985 and 1989, Dubravko worked as a senior design engineer for Avantek, Inc., Santa Clara, on the development of microwave diodes with applications from S-Band to Ka-band. In 1995 at UC Santa Barbara during his doctoral study, he was first in the world to demonstrate room-temperature continuous-wave operation of long-wavelength vertical-cavity lasers.

Dr. Babić joined Hewlett Packard Laboratories (Palo Alto) in 1995 where he led the development of long-wavelength vertical-cavity lasers. In 1999, he founded Alvésta Corporation where he served as CEO and subsequently as CTO, developing high-speed (10Gbps) multichannel fiber-optic modules for central office and supercomputing applications. Since 2003 he has been managing his consulting company Etanvie Technologies providing assistance to start-up companies with technology and intellectual property, including Clariphy Communications in Irvine, California, and Xloom Communications in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He joined Group4 Labs, Inc. in 2008 as VP RF Electronics to manage the development of RF power amplifiers based on GaN-on-diamond technology. Since 2012 he has been also been working as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb. Dr. Babić has over 100 publications and has been named inventor on 30 US patents.
